CAST & CREW

Terri Andrews - Director

Terri Andrews, Director is the Executive Producer and Artistic Director for TaDa! Events. She has performed and directed on both Canadian coasts and is passionate about developing and showcasing NL talent, onstage and offstage. For TaDa! Events, she has directed Jesus Christ Superstar, Rock of Ages, Evita, Chicago, Cabaret, Rocky Horror, Gypsy, Cats, Alice in Wonderland-An Aerial Fairytale, Disney’s Tale As Old As Time, and White Christmas. She has also written and directed all of the ever popular Our Divas shows, co-produced and technical directed The St. John’s Comedy Festival and has conceived and directed many large scale events and productions for private enterprise and festivals. Terri’s other life sees her as President of Quality Plus Inc., a health, safety, environmental and quality management consulting company. She coaches the amazing ladies of Avalon Dragons Dragon Boat Team, is a member of the Arts Advisory Board for the City of St. John’s and a founding and serving member of The Town of Paradise Arts Community Committee.

Kelly-Ann Evans - Assistant Director

Kelly-Ann Evans is an award-winning performer, producer and educator who has been onstage non-stop since the age of 7. She is the owner/operator of Rock City Studio (two-time MusicNL nominee for Educator of the Year) where she teaches voice and piano, facilitates performance workshops, and directs a women’s choir called Earth, Wind & Choir! She is also the owner/ director of Red Dress Entertainment, which produces and tours tribute shows as well as corporate entertainment. She was delighted in January to become a faculty member of The Graham Academy in Corner Brook where she travels back and forth teaching musical theatre. Kelly-Ann has a BMUS from Memorial University and studied Musical Theatre Performance at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario where she received the James Award for outstanding vocal achievement. She is a multiple MusicNL award winner and ECMA nominee who has been a company member of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, as well as with the original Canadian company of Queen’s musical We Will Rock You (Mirvish) in Toronto where she performed with Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor. Kelly-Ann’s television credits include hosting Out of the Fog on Rogers Television, Bloomsday Cabaret, as well as Above and Beyond, a CBC mini-series shot in Newfoundland, and last year she was a featured entrepreneur on NTV’s 6 part television series “EntrepreneurNL” She also played the role of Jan Parsons, the rugby queen tackling Jake Doyle on season one of CBC’s breakout hit show Republic of Doyle. Kelly-Ann’s first love and second home is the theatre. She has been seen locally in many diverse leading roles including everything from Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar (Beothuck Street Players AND Tada Events) to Diana Goodman in Next to Normal (Best Kind Productions), from Ursula the Sea Witch in The
Little Mermaid (Theatre St John’s) to Velma Kelly in Chicago (Tada Events). She has been a DIVA (Tada Events) for many years and loves her work playing and touring as Fifi DuBois with the Wonderbolt Circus. She would like to thank Terri from the bottom of her heart for giving her the opportunity to work on the other side of the table, and to have the opportunity to learn so much from one of her greatest mentors!

Bill Brennan - Musical Director

Bill Brennan, Musical Director is a pianist, percussionist, composer and producer whose expertise can be heard on some 100 albums to date. His albums, His album Solo Piano 2 won the MusicNL Instrumental album of the year in 2008 and Solo Piano received nominations for MusicNL and ECMA Instrumental Album of the Year in 2006. Brennan has been musical director for Tada!’s productions of Chicago, White Christmas, Rocky Horror Show, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Rock of Ages, Disney’s Tale As Old As Time and multiple Our Divas shows. He was musical director and composer for Building Jerusalem (Best New Production, Dora Awards, 2000), performed on film soundtracks for The Ice Storm and Antwone Fisher, and has recorded with the Heillig Manouevre, Evergreen Club Contemporary Gamelan and Vuja De. He has performed on CDs by Juno-nominated Teresa Doyle, ambient-pop-rocker Andy Stochansky, guitarist Kevin Breit, torch folksinger Andrea Koziol and fellow Newfoundlanders Sandy Morris and Patrick Boyle. He has backed up such greats as Cab Calloway, Placido Domingo and Dizzy Gillespie and has performed with the National Ballet and the Canadian Opera Company. He was musical director of CBC’s beloved Vinyl Café (hosted by Stuart MacLean), and a documentary composer for David Suzuki’s The Nature of Things. Bill has received a number of prestigious awards and commissions, and has been described by Geoff Chapman of the Toronto Star as “…..a central figure in this country’s music.” He was named Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council Artist of the Year for 2006 and directs the Memorial University Jazz Ensemble and Gamelan Sagara Asih (the Memorial University Gamelan Ensemble).

Pamela Pittman - Choreographer

Pamela Pittman, Choreographer is a choreographer, performer and instructor who loves all things dance. With 25+ years teaching experience in Newfoundland, Ontario, British Colombia and Norway, Pamela now focuses on freelance workshops and choreographic projects. Recent choreographic works include Mary Walsh’s Canada, It’s Complicated, TaDa’s Jesus Christ Superstar, Rock of Ages and Our Divas Do Christmas, Holy Heart’s The Wizard of Oz and it’s upcoming High School rendition of Chicago. Pam will choreograph We Will Rock You for TaDa! Events in 2019. Pamela is wife, and mom of two amazing daughters. Enjoy this incredibly touching show with it’s outstanding cast and crew.

Abra Whitney - Blanket Lady, Company

Abra Whitney (B.Mus, M.Mus), is an active singer, actor, conductor, voice teacher, and producer in the St. John’s area. Her favourite credits include Jane in No Matter What (Lady Cove Women’s Choir), Golde in Fiddler on the Roof (QVRR), Elsa in The Sound of Music (Gussied Up), Mrs Wells in A Call To Arms (Atlantic Light), Aquata in The Little Mermaid (Theatre St John’s), Florinda in Into the Woods (Opera on the Avalon) and Sister Berthe in The Sound of Music (OOTA). Abra has enjoyed being a vocal coach for Festival 500 Growing the Voices in their So You Always Wanted to Sing program, and as a choral leader for Instant Choir. Abra has also produced her own successful concert series, most recently showcasing Villains, Vixens and the Devilishly Vile. Abra is in high demand as a soloist being most recently being featured as a Diva in Our Divas Do a Christmas (TaDa!), with the NSO in Mendelssohn’s Midsummer Night Dream, and as a frequent guest of The Halliday Band. Abra is delighted to be a part of this powerful, and meaningful production!

Andie Winsor - Vendor, Company

Andie Winsor is so excited to be working with TaDa! Events for the first time! Andie is very passionate about music, dance and theatre, and will be attending York University’s music program in the fall of 2018. In March 2015, Andie starred as Sharpay Evans, in O’Donel High School’s production of High School Musical. Andie would like to give a special thanks to family and friends for their loving support. Thanks to TaDa! for the incredible opportunity, and special thanks to Terri Andrews, Kelly-Ann Evans, Bill Brennan, Jean Rowsell, and Pamela Pittman. Enjoy the show!
 

Andrew Williams - Mark

Andrew Williams is a veteran of TaDa! Events, having performed in Our Divas, as well as Jesus Christ Superstar and Rock of Ages. He recently performed in Best Kind Productions’ presentation of Fun Home, as well as performing the role of Chef Louis in Theatre St. John’s production of The Little Mermaid. Andrew is over the moooon to be living La Vie Boehme as Mark in this powerful production, and to be sharing the stage with some of the province’s top performers! Viva la Vie Boehme!

Chris Adams - Tom Collins

Chris Adams is much like his bohemian RENT character, Tom Collins, in that he has been a world traveller, activist, and visiting professor. An early graduate of Grenfell College with a BFA in acting, he has had leading roles in Canada and abroad with such companies as the prestigious Shaw Festival, The Festival of Classics, Equity Showcase, Mercury Theatre, Rising Tide, Stephenville Festival, Grand Bank Theatre Festival, New Curtain Theatre, Stagekids, and our very own TaDa! Events. His television credits include Twice in a Lifetime,The Untold Story, The Jesse Ventura Story, and various roles in over 24 episodes on Korean television while overseas. Diverse and favorite roles include war criminal / Nobel prize winner, Fritz Haber; missing Australian Prime Minister, Harold Holt; the “most evil man alive”, Aleister Crowley; Septimus Hodge in Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia; Tybalt and Benvolio in Romeo & Juliet; Lysander and Demetrius in Midsummer Night’s Dream; sex-crazed rock god, Stacee Jaxx in Rock of Ages and ex-biker apostle, Simon, in Jesus Christ Superstar. When not acting, he enjoys singing and making music; leadership, life, and wellness coaching; volunteering with various humanitarian organizations; and serving as elected Councillor to the Town of Cupids.

Courtney Fowler - Mrs. Jefferson, Company

Courtney Fowler is a local actress, best known for the roles of Sherrie in Rock of Ages (TaDa!, 2016), Jane in Tarzan (PMP, 2015) and Ariel in Footloose (Rennies, 2012). Courtney has also had the pleasure of working with the following local theatre companies: Theatre St. John’s, Atlantic-Light, Best Kind Productions, Gussied Up! and more. She is the owner/operator of Courtney Fowler Voice Studio, which offers training programs that integrate dance, acting and singing (ages 3 and up), and private lessons for all ages. CFVS focuses on community outreach and music/ theatre performance opportunities, while building confidence and courage in youth. Dan Lasby - Benny

Dan Lasby knows that when the opportunity to be in RENT arises, you seize the day. He is thrilled to be a part of this iconic musical and humbled to be surrounded by such a monumentally talented cast. Dan adds Benny to an ever growing list of great roles which include Lorenz Ziegfeld (Impressario), Senator Fipp (Urinetown), Princeton (Avenue Q) and Willy Wonka (Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory). You can catch a workshop production of his own show Red Rock this May. As always, Dan sends love and thanks to his beautiful wife and family without whom nothing is possible.

Gabrielle Forsey - Coat Vendor, Mrs. Marquez, Company

Gabrielle Forsey is a Pure Mathematics major at Memorial University, and a performer with the Enchanted Princess Kingdom as Snow White. Some of her past appearances include: Jesus Christ Superstar (TaDa! Events) 2015 and 2017, Remember the Magic (Etcetera Productions), The Vagina Monologues (V-Day: St. John’s), The Curious Case in the Colony as Anne (Shakespeare by the Sea), Shrek: The Musical as Fairy Godmother (Etcetera Productions), Scrooge the Musical as Clara (Peter MacDonald Productions), Godspell (Etcetera Productions.) and Fame: The Musical (Theatre St. John’s). Garrett Wells - Vocal & Dance Company

Garrett Wells is a full-time pharmacist as well as a part-time Zumba® and BodyStep™ instructor with GoodLife Fitness. He has trained in many styles of dance including ballroom, hip hop, and jazz. He recently appeared on stage in TaDa! Events Jesus Christ Superstar and Atlantic Light Theatre’s Guys and Dolls. This year marks 10 years worth of shows with TaDa! Events and he has loved every minute of it! He would like to thank his family for their continued love and support. Also, a big thank you to Pam, Terri, Bill and Kelly-Ann for yet another amazing opportunity to be on stage!

Gillian Davis - Mimi Understudy, Company

Gillian Davis is a third year student at Memorial University, pursuing a major in Geography. RENT marks Gillian’s debut with TaDa! Events and she couldn’t be happier to be doing it in one of her favorite shows. Past credits include Hairspray (PMP), Shrek (Etcetera), Grease (TSJ) and numerous performances with the Mount Pearl Show Choir and Etcetera Productions. Huge thanks to Terri, Bill, Pam and Kelly-Ann for the opportunity!

Gita Wigdorchik - Maureen

Gita is a graduate of the Triple Threat program at Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts in Toronto, Ontario where Miss Wigdorchik originally hails from. She's a true CFA, having just landed here at the end of August and now proudly calls "The Rock" her true home. Sassy, talented and with unrivaled energy, Gita is thrilled and honoured to be making her TADA Events debut playing her dream role of "Maureen Johnson," a role she was born to play! Miss Wigdorchik is a regular performer with Spirit of Newfoundland having done a long run of their 2017 Christmas show and played Britney Spears in their show, "Night of 1000 Stars" for the 2018 Frosty Festival. Some of her other credits include Patty Simcox in Grease, Aunt March in the Canadian version of Little Women written and directed by Jim Betts, Marilyn Monroe for the Hollywood show with Canada Superstars and Charlotte in Morris Panych's 7 Stories. Gita's upcoming work is going on tour with The Spirit of Newfoundland at the end of March with their WW1 tribute show, "Where Once They Stood."

Holly Daley - Mrs. Davis, Company

Holly Daley is a teacher and performer here in the city who spends her time teaching privately with Take Note Music School, and singing with Lady Cove women’s choir. Holly’s past shows for TaDa! Include Rock of Ages, Jesus Christ Superstar and Frosty Festival Grand Opening Showcase 2017, where she was a featured soloist. She is so grateful to the whole Tada! crew for giving her yet another opportunity to work and share the stage with so many inspiring people.

Jack Brennan - Gordon, Company

Jack Brennan was born and raised in Labrador West and is very excited to show St. John’s what he can do in his debut with TaDa! Events. Jack has worked with Lab West theatre companies including The Carol Players and Encore Productions, and has performed in a multitude of festivals. With the Royal Conservatory of Music, he has achieved level 8 in Trombone, level 9 in Piano, level 8 in Voice, and level 10 in Speech Arts and Drama, winning 5 Atlantic Gold medals. Jack is a first year bachelor of music student at Memorial, studying trombone under Dr. Karen Bulmer.

John Andrews - Mr. Jefferson, Company

John Andrews is thrilled to be appearing in this amazing show, his 10th production for TaDa! Events. John first started down this road as a young whipper snapper over 30 years ago when big sis Terri took a nervous young lad to his first audition and has been la-la-lovin it ever since! Memorable stage moments include the role of Dennis Dupre in Rock of Ages and singing in his red serge in Our Divas Do Christmas. John would like to extend special thanks to Terri, his family and Shauna for her wholehearted support in these theatrical pursuits and endeavours! Hope you all enjoy the show! No day but today!!

Jordan Coaker - Steve, Company

Jordan Coaker is an East Coast Music Association award nominee, a 3-time MusicNL award winner, and a multi-time MusicNL nominee. From Conception Bay South, he is the lead vocalist for rock band Waterfront Fire, and one half of the folk duo Quote the Raven. 2016 was his debut year into musical theatre. He performed in TaDa!’s Rock of Ages and Our Divas Do Christmas, as well as Gussied Up’s production of The Sound of Music. In 2017, he played a miner in Billy Elliot, medic Thomas “Whitey” Macgrath in A Call To Arms, a disciple in TaDa! Events’ Jesus Christ Superstar, and returned to Our Divas Do Christmas for a second year. 2018 is shaping up to be a great year as Waterfront Fire has just released a sophomore album titled “Stillwater Lake”. RENT has always had a special place in Jordan’s heart and he is so proud and honoured to be a member of this cast.

Kara Noftle - Joanne

Kara Noftle has been featured in several local musicals including: Hairspray, Sister Act, Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Miserables, Avenue Q and Anything Goes, and starred in Torch Songs with Best Kind Productions in March 2017. This past December marked her fifth Divas appearance, and she is a proud member of the ladies choir Les Ms. Kara works full time with Spirit of Newfoundland Productions where you will find her “screeching in” a tourist, planning an event, or onstage in shows including ABBA; Skeets, Snobs & Peppermint Nobs, Where Once They Stood; Our Celtic Spirit; Women Doin Men; For Lease Navidad and The Best NL Little Christmas Pageant Ever. Kara is beyond delighted to be playing the role of Joanne in RENT. She would like to thank TaDa! Events for this opportunity.

Keith Roberts - Angel

Keith Roberts has worked and been involved with many NL productions, on both sides of the curtain. His performing credits include: Doody (PWC, Grease), Angel Schunard (PWC, Rent), Friedrich Von Trapp (Rennies River, Sound of Music), Soloist (TaDa! Events, Our Divas Do Christmas, 2016). Taking a break from being in the lights, he acquired a High Honours Advanced Diploma in Costume Construction and Scenic Painting at Sheridan College in Oakville, ON which led him to the Shaw Festival Theatre in Niagara- on-the-Lake, ON. Costume credits include: Frontier (Take The Shot Productions, 2016), Our Divas Do Christmas (TaDa Events, 2014 – 2016), British Invasion (Theatre St. John’s, 2016, 2017), Fun Home (Best Kind Productions, 2017). Keith is especially excited to be reprising the role of Angel, as it’s been a long 8 years since he first appeared in PWC’s School Edition of RENT (2010).

Medeleine Mant - Mrs. Cohen, Company

Madeleine Mant is a recent St. John’s transplant, arriving in September 2017 (originally from Edmonton, via England and Ontario) to undertake a postdoctoral research fellowship at Memorial University. She is thrilled to be making her TaDa! debut with RENT. Favourite past credits include Hair (Hamilton Theatre Inc.), Assassins (Confidential Musical Theatre Project Hamilton), and Sweeney Todd (McMaster Musical Theatre). Thank you to Terri, Bill, Pam, and Kelly-Ann for this fantastic opportunity!

Melissa Power - Vocal & Dance Company

Melissa Power is happiest when she’s on stage, and she is stoked to be rockin’ out in RENT! In the past decade, Melissa had been a part of some fabulous shows including Jesus Christ Superstar, Rock of Ages, Evita, Our Divas Do Christmas, Chicago (TaDa! Events), Spamalot (Atlantic Light Theatre), Legends, Frosty Festival: British Invasion, and Mardi Gras: A Tribute to Michael Jackson (Red Dress Entertainment), and most recently had the best time as backup dancer for Newfoundland’s own Tina Turner, Mrs. Dana Parsons! Melissa is co-founder of Ignite Dance Company, and she would like to give a huge shout out to her dancers who are busy preparing for competition season. With a Bachelor of Education from MUN, Melissa keeps busy as a Child and Youth Care Worker, teaching at Steffen Dance, and working with Ignite. She sends all the love and gratitude to the incredible team that is Tada! - Pam, Bill and Terri! Thank you from the bottom of my little heart for the opportunity to be a part of this stellar cast! xo

Nicole Collins - Squeegieperson, Company

Nicole Collins is back onstage with TaDa! Events after taking a few years off to start her family. A mother of two energetic boys, and a French teacher, Nicole is extremely busy, but always makes time for music. Past TaDa! Roles include Merry Murderess in Chicago and the title role in Gypsy. Nicole would like to thank Terri for the countless shows in which she has been entrusted to perform. She feels very blessed to be granted yet another opportunity to work with some of the best talent St. John’s has to offer: on and off stage. Extended thanks to Jon for your years of support. Philip Goodridge - Paul, Company

Philip Goodridge first heard the RENT soundtrack 22 years ago and considers performing in the show to be a dream come true! A graduate of York University’s Theatre program (performance/playwriting), Philip most recently starred in his original work Three Tales Of Terror: Old Time Radio Drama with Ladies Who Lunch Productions. Previous credits with TaDa! include Our Divas Do Christmas, Jesus Christ Superstar, Chicago, Cabaret, Alice In Wonderland, The Rocky Horror Show, White Christmas, Tale As Old As Time, and Evita. He’s worked with many companies in the province including Best Kind Productions, Atlantic Light Theatre, Artistic Fraud Of Newfoundland, Theatre St. John’s, RCA Theatre, Wonderbolt Circus, Rising Tide Theatre’s Summer In The Bight, c2c, Beothuck Street Players, Peter MacDonald Productions, Joint Productions and others. He has written several plays including Eli and The Deathcurse, Above and Below, The Thieves’ Tale, Once Upon a Blah Blah Blah, and Aquarium which toured to Edmonton’s NextFest in 2004. His show The Ogre’s Purse (RCA Theatre) toured schools across the province in 2014. He is also a singer/ songwriter and performs as a solo artist and as one half of the duo The Duds with Melanie O’Brien Hutton.

Sabrina Roberts - Mimi

Sabrina Roberts is full of raw talent, charisma and diversity. She brings a load of experience and a positive energy to the stage. Her passion for music and the performing arts stems from a childhood of dance classes, piano/guitar lessons, community theatre and a family of extraverts. After completing the Acting course at the Canadian College of Film and Television (Victoria, BC), Sabrina moved her way across the country performing in various plays and musicals... and singing in many pubs! She landed in Newfoundland over 12 years ago and has become a big part of the musical theatre scene. Notable roles include: Regina in Rock of Ages (TaDa! Events); Sandy in Grease, and Flotsam the Eel in Little Mermaid (Theatre St. John’s); Jacqueline in Don’t Dress for Dinner (Joint Productions); Sister Amnesia in Nunsense (St. John’s Players); and Katherine in Taming of the Shrew (Shakespeare by the Sea). She is absolutely OVER THE MOOOOOON to be playing the role of Mimi in TaDa!’s production of RENT!

Steve Maloney - Roger

Steve Maloney is a musician and songwriter hailing from St. John’s who is excited to be making his large stage musical theatre debut in RENT. He has toured eastern Canada multiple times over and was the Dawson City Music Festival’s Songwriter in Residence for 2017. With nominations from the ECMA, MusicNL and the Borealis Prize, Maloney was named Country and Alternative Artist of the Year, along with Songwriter of the Year at the 2017 MusicNL awards. His newest album The Memory Game was produced and engineered by Joshua Van Tassel (Great Lake Swimmers, Donovan Woods, Sarah Slean). It is available at all online outlets, or locally at Fred’s Records. Recent theatre credits include; Tenor (band) in Between Breaths (Artistic Fraud), Etienne Brûlée in Brûlée (St. John’s Shorts).

Wayne Pardy - The Man, Company

Wayne Pardy is puzzled and delighted to be playing a pastor, a drug dealer and a real estate developer, all in the same show! Previous Tada! Events shows have included Rock of Ages (Hertz), Jesus Christ Superstar (Caiaphas), Chicago (Sergeant Fogarty), CATS (Great Rumpus Cat); White Christmas (Jimmy), Alice in Wonderland, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Gypsy, Evita, Frosty Festival, Our Diva’s Do Christmas, Our Diva’s Tale as Old as Time and Our Diva’s Do Broadway. He has also performed with the Rennie’s River fall musicals Footloose (Coach Roger Dunbar) Oliver and All Shook Up (Sherriff Earl). Wayne is very proud to work with two outstanding companies: TaDa! Events and Roth Lochston. 100% thanks as always to Terri.

Yohei Sakai - Homeless Soloist, Company

Yohei Sakai is a singer/conductor originally from Japan. He has completed a Bachelor of Music (Voice) and is currently studying for a master’s degree in choral conducting at Memorial University of Newfoundland. His formal musical training started with four years in Mexico, resulting in a strong core repertoire of Latin American folk and Japanese songs. Yohei is the founder and director of St. John’s Gay Men’s Chorus, which is the newest gay men’s chorus in Canada. They will be representing the Province in May at the Unison Festival in Calgary.
